Check out the new information board on the River Walk, opposite the church! It’s all about the Round Mound, a medieval defensive settlement, which is located next to the church, and which forms part of the church lands. Some tree pruning took place earlier this year in order to make the mound visible from the River Walk. The sign was funded by the National Monuments Service through the Community Monuments Fund 2021 and is part of a local initiative to promote the archaeological heritage of Wicklow town, co-ordinated through the Heritage Office of Wicklow County Council.
